Marcia Young Art ‘My Art’ was started up with a new pan of watercolour paints whilst the children were at Primary school. I wanted to follow my dream, my real passion of painting & drawing whilst bringing up my young family so I started up as a small business creating paintings that has the extra personal touch as each painting has been specially created and personalised specially for you. Now I sell my commissioned work to all over the UK from my website and from my online shop with www.Notonthehighstreet.com/marciayoungart/ I love taking part in Kent markets: Best of Faversham market & fairs and it gives me the best feeling meeting old and new customers as its a real honour when a customer commissions a painting.
Art & drawing has been my greatest love since I was a small child as I was always drawing I loved drawing animals and people with smiling faces! At Mayfield secondary school in London I loved the smell of the art room, it was the most exciting room in the school, it was were I was the happiest experimenting with different art techniques and followed my enthusiasm of art into studying Graphic design and advertising at College in London….my favourite part was coming up with lots of ideas and learning printing techniques.
My painting expresses my love of colour, light, textures and seeing the beauty that’s all around us, growing up in London but later moved to Kent I have taken great inspiration from both natural beauty of the landscape on my many walks, local wildlife and strive to show the subtle details that we all see but sometimes go unnoticed as well as the solid architecture forms capturing character, design of buildings.
Now after following a creative business school course, Dream Plan Do course I sell my commissioned work to all over the UK and it gives me the best feeling as its a real honour when a customer commissions a painting, buys a print, mug, coaster or greeting card of my art work that supports my small business dream. I have enjoyed meeting new & regular customers when having a regular art stall at The Best of Faversham Arts, Crafts and Food Market is held in Preston Street Faversham (ME13 8NY). The market is held on the first and third Saturday of each month and is open for trading between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Marcia was absolutely incredible with bringing to life the dreary photos from a raining autumn afternoon and transforming them into bright and colourful gardens as they would be in summer! The recipients of the paintings and I were in awe of the immense level of detail and thought put into them. They loved discovering small details Marcia took care of including. Thank you so much to Marcia for being so helpful and informative, keeping me updated on the progress to make sure I was happy along the way, and for being so accommodating with my requests. Truly a delightful lady and extraordinarily talented artist to order from and I am so over the moon with these paintings!
